TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY

  1. Transaxle assembly

  3. CVT fluid charging pipe
  4. CVT fluid charging pipe cap
  1. Tightening must be done following the installation procedure. Refer to TM-283, "Removal and Installation".

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

WARNING:

Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Serious burns could occur from high-pressure coolant escaping from the radiator. Wrap a thick cloth around the cap. Slowly push down and turn it a quarter turn to allow built-up pressure to escape. Carefully remove the cap by pushing it down and turning it all the way.

CAUTION:

NOTE:

  1. Remove the engine and transaxle assembly. Refer to EM-82, "M/T : Removal and Installation" (MT) or EM-86, "CVT : Removal and Installation" (CVT).
  2. Disconnect the connectors and harnesses.
  1. Rotate the crankshaft and remove the nuts that secure the drive plate to the torque converter from the stator motor mount.

CAUTION:

Rotate crankshaft clockwise (as viewed from the front of the engine).

  1. Remove the bolts (engine to transaxle) that fasten the transaxle assembly and engine assembly.

  1. Remove transmission bracket.
  2. Lift the transaxle from the front suspension member.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

NOTE:

Install the transaxle assembly and engine assembly mounting bolts according to the following standards.
